准备好升级到wordpress 2.5了吗？

3月到来，wordpress 2.5也即将发布，下面这篇文章建议在升级前阅读一下，摘自这里。

I recently asked if you were ready for WordPress 2.5, but let’s go through the steps to prepare your blog for upgrading to the new version next week.

  1. Check Compatibilities: Visit the and check the WordPress Theme Compatibilities and WordPress Plugin Compatibilities lists to ensure that the Theme and Plugins you are using will work with the new version. If there is a Plugin your blog is dependent upon, check with the author to ensure you have the updated version.检查兼容性
  2. Update Themes and Plugins: The Migrating Plugins and Themes offers tips on updating your Plugin or Theme for the latest version of WordPress. 升级主题和插件
  3. Do a PreFlight Test: The Wordpress Upgrade Preflight Check Plugin tests your blog to make sure it is ready for the new version. This is especially good for those moving from older versions to the newest one.做一个测试
  4. Disable and/or Remove Old Plugins: Go through your Plugins list and get rid of the Plugins you don’t use any more. Remove them from your server. If there are Plugins which are not compatible with the new version, check for updates and install them. If there are no updates, look for alternatives.禁用或者删除旧的插件
  5. Print Your Plugins List: Go to the Plugins panel and print a list of the Plugins you have on your blog and highlight the ones you can’t live without. In case something goes wrong, you at least have the list. (Nothing will go wrong.) 打印一张你的插件列表
  6. Validate: If you have been tweaking with your WordPress Theme, take time to run it through a validator to ensure that it still works and there is nothing left broken. See the Validating a Website article in the  WordPress Codex for help. While you’re at it, why not run your site through some checklists to ensure everything is up-to-date and ready.
  7. Backup: Backup your database. Backup your WordPress Theme. Backup Your Plugins directory. Backup EVERYTHING. Even do an XML export as an additional backup measure. 数据备份
  8. Relax and Read: Take time now, not when you are in a panic of upgrading, to read through the WordPress Codex documents on installing and upgrading WordPress:
  9. Check The WordPress Support Forums: If something goes wrong during a major upgrade, you will find out first on the . You can monitor the site directly or through the feed.

The more you prepare your blog in advance for the upgrade, the easier it will be to make the transition without complications.

最近开始玩facebook，的确是很有趣的应用。和fb相比，我最早使用的社会化应用比如wealink之类实在差的很远了。（不知道还有谁在使用wealink这些先驱者，至少有xiaonei等模仿者）对于我来说，除了fb的app架构以外，其带来的很多有趣的应用，设计精良的细节都是我所钟爱的。（我觉得之前自己的很多理念和这样最流行的设计相比，还是相差很远，需要好好再学习和努力）

我相信几千年后，如果还有互联网的话，肯定不是这个样子的。（好像是废话）

所以，结论是我们还有很大的余地做得更好。如果有时光机器的话，我们可以看到未来，惊叹未来的变化，而实际上，未来是依靠我们自己创造的，我们是身在庐山中的。每个人都有自己的责任，担当。

Best Startup Founder: Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook)

Does this really need any explanation? At 23 Mark has built one of the world’s leading online destinations that has recently been valued at $15 billion. A remarkable achievement for anyone, let alone someone at the still relatively young 23. A well deserved award.

Best Startup CEO: Toni Schneider (Automattic)

Schnieder has lead the company from its roots as a open source alternative to Movable Type into a multi-million dollar enterprise that saves the world from blog spam and offers a free hosted blogging solution that competes with Google’s Blogger.

Best new startup: iMedix

iMedix combines search and social networking to change the way people find health information online. Users are encouraged to help each other by sharing health experiences and links from around the web.

Most likely to succeed: Automattic (WordPress)

The open source blogging platform that powers the long tale and turned into a multi-million dollar spam fighting and hosted blogging service.

Best use of viral marketing: StumbleUpon

1 预先安装wordpress，继续推广这个最好的blog软件。可选是否安装为中文版。
2 默认安装理想空间精选的40个左右主题。用户可以自行删除和上传主题文件。
3 默认安装理想空间精选的20个左右插件。用户可以自行删除和上传插件。主题和插件的讨论在本论坛的wordpress区.
4 允许ftp上传主题和插件，容量为100M
5 免费绑定用户一级域名。
6 每月流量2G。对于一般访问的blog，已经足够了。
7 申请资格，在理想空间论坛提出申请，需要满50积分。
8 第二年使用，和理想空间其他免费计划一样，会需要一定论坛金币。论坛金币的相关使用参考论坛积分规则.
9 其他限制条件：blog内容不能涉及到反动、淫秽、政治等。

我把模板又换回来了

这次可是自己折腾了,那个The Morning After主题我不想再碰了,麻烦的地方有以下几点:

1 最新文章一定要配大图,否则就很难看,这个工作量太大.
2 推荐文章和所有文章的小图尺寸不一致,增加工作量.
3 所有的配图在文章内部不能显示,只在首页显示.
4 推荐文章必须唯一的设定到类别Featured,很麻烦,影响分类.
5 不支持widget,虽然我正式因为不知道什么原因widget功能坏了不能用很多好的模板,但是这个主题不支持widget就不太值得推荐了.
6 所有配图要ftp上传到不同路径,比起Strucure来说,差的太远了.

所以,我又换回来了,减少了首页文章的显示数量.

6 每月流量2G。对于一般访问的blog，已经足够了。
7 申请资格，在理想空间论坛提出申请，需要满50积分。
8 第二年使用，和理想空间其他免费计划一样，会需要一定论坛金币，尚未最后确认。
9 其他限制条件：blog内容不能涉及到反动、淫秽、政治等。

整个wordpress虚拟主机计划是免费的，需要论坛金币的原因主要有:

1 避免浪费。如果一点门槛都不设置，会有很大的浪费。
2 提倡人人为我，我为人人的思想，希望网友们互相帮助，可以在论坛讨论虚拟主机、wordpress的问题，共同提高。

目前理想空间的0750免费虚拟主机计划中对于论坛金币的要求都不是很难做到，我们也不会开通人民币购买论坛金币的业务，因为这样做和我们的初衷不符。

本计划推出后，原来理想空间的铜计划和明日会将停止，相关说明已经逐步在理想空间官方blog上披露了。

为了以后的服务稳定，本月也会开始一些测试性工作，会有一定的测试名额，感兴趣的朋友可以在论坛报名。

安装了simple Tags插件

实在受不了wordpress自身tag的弱点，于是恢复以前使用的simple tags插件，感觉功能还增强了很多，后台使用很方便。
也开始整理一下分类和tags，好在simple tags有tags推荐功能，这样可以更加专注，同时使用了它提供的相关文章，通过tags来关联应该要比原来使用的通过标题来关联准确一些。
